Overview
Seedhouse Creative had grown by referral for six years, but their public voice hadn't caught up with the caliber of their work. I led a repositioning project to translate their working culture into a brand people could feel before they read a word.
The Challenge
The team was competing for national accounts against agencies twice their size. Their existing site read as generic — warm words, stock imagery, no clear point of view.
The Strategy
We anchored the brand in a single idea: the most confident work is the quietest in the room. Every touchpoint — voice, typography, color, cadence — had to earn its place.
Process
- 1
Interviewed nine clients and every team member to surface the language people actually used about the studio.
- 2
Mapped the competitive set and identified the crowded 'bold and playful' lane we would deliberately step out of.
- 3
Drafted a positioning statement, voice principles, and a messaging matrix for three audience tiers.
- 4
Partnered with the design team to translate the strategy into a visual system and pitch deck.
Deliverables
- Brand positioning & narrative
- Voice and tone guide
- Messaging matrix
- New business pitch deck
Results
- 01
Won two national accounts within the following quarter.
- 02
Cut new-business pitch prep time by roughly 40%.
- 03
Voice guide is now onboarding reading for every new hire.
Reflection
“Strategy is easiest to defend when it lives inside a sentence anyone on the team can repeat. That was the thing I carried out of this project.”
